Device will not turn on: HTC One (LTE)

The device will not turn on, is unresponsive, or has a black screen.

The device may not turn on if the reserve battery power has drained or if the battery logic is corrupt. Battery logic allows the battery to respond to a fatal crash or error, and helps avoid damage to the device.

To turn on the device, follow these steps:

  1. Plug device into the HTC wall charger that came with the device.

Nota: Do not use a computer to charge the device; this does not provide enough amps to ensure the battery will fully charge.

  1. Charge the device until the LED glows solid. (This can take up to 20 minutes.)
  2. While still on the charger, press and hold the Power key for 15 seconds.
  3. If the issue persists, press and hold Power, Volume up and Volume down keys for 1 - 5 minutes. This process will recalibrate the battery, and allow you to power on the device.
